Natalie Orozco De Leon, MPH (cand)

Public Health Intern 

Natalie is a Master of Public Health candidate at Northwestern University, with plans to attend medical school to pursue her goal of becoming a physician. Passionate about health equity, reproductive justice, and community-centered care, she is dedicated to advancing integrative, trauma-informed, patient-centered health care and patient advocacy, particularly for immigrant populations and LGBTQ+ communities.

 

Her work and research interests include women’s and sexual health, the intersections of structural oppression, birthing person health disparities, and culturally responsive healthcare. She has previously contributed to urogynecological clinical research, aiming to enhance reproductive and gynecological health outcomes for women in the DC area. Natalie’s experience also spans nonprofit and global health initiatives, including internships with non-profit organizations in Bolivia and Guatemala, where she focused on sexual health education, STI stigma reduction, and education accessibility. As an NDoula academic intern, Natalie will contribute to the development and enhancement of NDoula’s birthwork and patient advocate curriculum, while also working to increase public awareness of postpartum anxiety.
