Janita Harris is born, raised, and now rearing two small children in Chicago’s South suburbs. She is trained in CPR, First Aid, and has recently become a Lurie Safe Sleep Ambassador. A childcare provider, employer, and entrepreneur, Janita is proud to positively impact her community’s economic development. Janita recently celebrated 5 years as the owner and founder of the childcare facility Pooh Bears Care which is also a registered diaper distribution site in Dolton, IL.

Janita enjoyed having doula support for her pregnancies, and working with NDoula is one way she continues to engage with the doula community. Janita serves NDoula as the Events Committee Lead and mentor in training. When not serving her family and community, Janita enjoys yoga and acting for the stage.
